The Leadership Development Trip to Cape Town, South Africa, took our students beyond the classroom and into an experience designed to challenge how they think, lead and work together.

Across eight days, students participated in leadership and servant-leadership sessions, team challenges, adventure activities, environmental education, history and hands-on STEM learning.

At Acrobranch Constantia, the high ropes and zip-line adventure pushed students beyond their comfort zones, while activities such as Cool Runnings and ice skating challenged them to practise perseverance, adaptability and teamwork.

A visit to Robben Island provided a powerful opportunity to reflect on courage, sacrifice, justice and servant leadership. At the World of Birds and Two Oceans Aquarium, students explored the importance of conservation and environmental responsibility, before rounding off the trip at the Cape Town Science Centre with hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

From 20–26 July 2026, our IB students took learning beyond the classroom as they immersed themselves in a rich blend of service, culture, creativity, adventure, and reflection as part of their 2026 CAS experience.

From exploring the colourful architecture of Park Güell and the historic streets of the Gothic Quarter to discovering the symbolism of La Sagrada Família, every experience offered a new opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. Students also challenged themselves with a hike up Tibidabo, explored the legacy of FC Barcelona at Camp Nou, and expressed their creativity through a hands-on street art project.

The experience extended beyond sightseeing. At Alella Green Tech, students worked alongside local volunteers and experienced sustainable farming firsthand. They also took part in cultural challenges, learned Gaudí’s famous Trencadís technique, prepared traditional Tapas and Paella, and embraced Spanish culture through Salsa and Rumba Catalana

Most importantly, Barcelona brought the IB CAS philosophy to life. Through service, collaboration, creativity, and reflection, our students demonstrated initiative, perseverance, communication, and cultural awareness while developing a deeper understanding of global citizenship.

Barcelona 2026 was more than a trip. It was learning in action, growth through experience, and an opportunity for our students to discover what they are capable of.

From 26 July to 4 August 2026, 28 Greensprings students travelled to Leeds and Manchester, United Kingdom, for their Duke of Edinburgh International Award expedition, taking on the Adventurous Journey component of their Award.

Before setting out, students prepared through equipment checks, meal and route planning, map-reading assessments and compass navigation exercises. Divided into Silver and Bronze groups, they put their preparation to the test as they navigated unfamiliar terrain, made route decisions, led their teams, prepared meals outdoors and managed their campsites.

The journey tested more than their navigation skills. Students had to adapt to unfamiliar weather and terrain, make decisions as a team, persevere through physically demanding sections and support one another along the way.

Every challenge became an opportunity to build leadership, resilience, independence, teamwork and confidence.

After successfully completing their Adventurous Journey, students rounded off the experience with recreational activities in Manchester, including a city tour, a visit to the Trafford Centre, an amusement park and a cinema experience.

They returned to Nigeria with more than a completed DofE milestone. They returned with memories, stronger friendships and a deeper belief in their ability to navigate challenges, both on the trail and beyond it.

In the spirit of celebrating memories & milestones, Greensprings School is proud to mark another historic event! In partnership with the Lagos & Ogun State Ministry of Education, we hosted another Public School Scholarship Examination, a major Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to open doors of opportunity for top students in public schools across Lagos & Ogun State.

50 high-achieving students were selected from public schools across both states’ local government areas to sit for this life-changing examination.

This initiative reflects our deep commitment to giving back, nurturing talent beyond our campuses, and ensuring that academic potential is celebrated regardless of background. By continuing to invest in these bright young minds, we are not only expanding access to world-class education but also empowering the next generation of Nigerian leaders and innovators.

As we look back on 41 years of educational leadership, creating meaningful pathways like this stands out as one of our most rewarding milestones yet!

What a year it has been! As we gear up for the final stretch of our 41st anniversary session, looking back from September 2025 to July 2026 feels like flipping through a scrapbook packed with incredible Milestones & Memories.

We kicked off the new session with fresh energy, and boy, did the months fly by! From the high-stakes academic wins to the loud cheers on the sports fields, every single day was a reminder of over four decades of Greensprings excellence. We watched our students smash goals, flex their creative muscles, and grow into truer versions of themselves.Ìý

There were stressful exam-prep weeks, sure, but they were always balanced by the pure joy of hallway laughs, campus events, and those fun moments in the classroom. More than anything, this concluded session showed us the true heart of our community. We didn’t just survive the academic year; we absolutely conquered it, making history every step of the way.Ìý

Cheers to the laughs shared, the lessons learned, and the memories that will stay with us forever!Ìý

September seems just like yesterday, students stepping into new classrooms carrying uncertainty about the new session, teachers wondering how best to support them.Ìý

As the weeks went by, challenges emerged, academic struggles surfaced, and we had to dig deep wearing various thinking hats, trying new strategies and leaning into professional development to find better ways forward.

By June, the results of that collective effort were clear. The progress is measurable and visible. Students who initially struggled have developed stronger foundational skills and greater independence. Similarly, the teachers who engaged in targeted training have refined their instructional methods, leading to more effective daily lessons.

As this session concludes, we reflect on a period defined by hard work and distinct milestones. This chapter closes on a strong note, with everyone having demonstrably moved forward.

Until the next session

This year asked more than we expected

and gave back more than we knew to want.

A grade, a friendship, a version of ourselves

We hadn’t met in September.

We learned that failure has a short memory

If you refuse to give it the last word.

The teacher who pushed hardest

was usually the one who saw something first.

That kindness, offered quietly, lands harder than you think.

Ìý

Then came exams. The silence of the hall,

clocks loud as heartbeats, pens moving like silent prayers.

Weeks of revision notes and convincing yourself you knew enough.

You did. Mostly.

Ìý

Prize-giving day is still coming.

Names will be called.

Stages crossed.

The work will become something you can hold,

something to show for the long months of it.

Ìý

And the Year 11s, they stand a little more straight,Ìý

knowing this is the last time the school will call them students.

Knowing the next thing has no uniform.

No bell to follow and no one to take the register.

Ìý

Just the open door and the particular fear

that lives right next to excitement,

the kind you feel when something real is starting.

Ìý

The door is still open.

That’s enough.
